MTV News caught up with three performers, Lolla newbies looking forward to making their festival debut.

“It’s a really well-known name,” Swedish DJ/producer Avicii told MTV News of Lollapalooza. “But honestly, I don’t know much more than that. I mean, I’ve played Chicago a lot. It’s one of the first cities that I started playing. This is the first festival I’m doing there. So I’m really excited to see what the fuss is about!”

“I’ve heard a lot of things about it, actually, because everyone keeps asking and speaking about it,” rising dance-music sensation Zedd revealed recently.

“I love the stage lineup,” Zedd continued, “so after the show, I’ll just stay onstage the whole time, I guess, and just have fun.”

Porter Robinson and Zedd will play back-to-back sets with 18-year-old French phenom Madeon, who was particularly pleased to be taking the stage at such a prestigious American festival.

“The prospect of playing a festival that has a long history and rich culture is thrilling,” Madeon told MTV News this week. “I’ve been told great things about the event and the openness of the audience. The fact that it’s a multi-genre event certainly makes for a diverse audience.”

And keep your ears peeled, Madeon fans: He promises some rarely heard previews of new material.

“I’ll be playing parts of my upcoming single and, as with all of my shows, a lot of edits, mash-ups and ideas that are only played live,” he teased. “I like to have elements of improvisation to whatever is in the set list: combining vocals and songs in new ways, or an impromptu synth solo.”
